As September draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible month. September isn't just any month for us—it’s Sourdough September, an international celebration dedicated to real bread made with simple ingredients, natural fermentation, and zero artificial preservatives.
This last Friday of September also features National Bakery Day, a time to honor local, artisan bakeries and the hard-working teams behind the scenes who get up early to dough, shape, and bake fresh loaves every single day.
Abigail's Oven Story:
From a Wagon to a Bakery: What started as an eight-year-old girl named Abigail pulling a little red wagon full of freshly baked sourdough door-to-door has grown into a thriving family-run business. For nearly a decade, the Levie family has been dedicated to crafting traditional, nutrient-rich Dutch oven sourdough bread using honest, simple ingredients.
Sharing the Art of Real Bread: Abigail’s Oven isn't just about selling loaves across Utah and shipping them nationwide; we are on a mission to bring wholesome baking into everyday homes. Through in-person and online Zoom workshops, we teach others how to master natural sourdough fermentation themselves, blending family heritage with community education.
Ever wondered what it takes to transform simple flour, water, and salt into the crusty, delicious loaves on your table? Step behind the counter and see what goes into every single batch in our journey through
A Day at Abigail's Oven Sourdough Bakery.
